I Told You So

Manny Pacquiao won against Miguel Cotto! Woot! I told you all he's gonna win! It wasn't an easy fight though because Cotto keeps on dancing inside the ring to prevent Manny from hitting him more. It was a bloody fight -all at Cotto's expense. Haha! I'm so proud of Pacquiao, told you I have faith in him! The referee stopped the fight at Round 12 which made Pacman the King of 7 Different Boxing Categories. However, credit should also be given to Cotto for being a good sport. He gave Pacquiao a hug after the fight. Here's a funny line from Manny:

Interviewer: You gave him no mercy tonight.
Pacman: I know. hehe.

Today...

Free Printables

I am currently in a mental scrapblock. Again. But now I know what I have to do when I am suffering from this "illness".... I go to galleries! There I find my inspiration and then my scrapping groove is back in a jiffy. However, there are days when I'm not just "into it" so I let things pass and find a more productive way to spend my day.

Same thing goes with me when I am teaching. I have to admit that there are days when I am so lazy to teach especially when almost half of my pupils are absent (yeah it happens). There are times when I just let the kids play with blocks or let them manipulate and read some stories. And sometimes, when I am busy with paper works to pass to my boss, I let the kids color their books provided that I approve the pages that they're going to color. That's how I kill time! Haha! There were also times that I make the kids improve their writing by making them copy a poem and then telling them that I will not give stars to those who doesn't write within the lines. These tricks work perfectly because 90% of my pupils now are fast writers with better penmanship than 2 months ago. That's the beauty of teaching I guess, you get to see the fruits of your labor right there and then.

However, I also know that I have to modify my classroom activities from time to time to avoid monotony on the kids' part so I get my resources online. I have found this site called FreePrintables that caters to teachers, kids, crafters, and most especially, mothers. You can find thousands of printable materials for FREE including cards, coloring pages, lessons, scrapbook page to add to your kits, pictures, games, calendars, and even music! This site is basically for everyone even the working moms are in! This is indeed a breath of fresh air especially to those who are looking for items to be printed ASAP (i.e. cards, invitations). My personal favorite is the printable coupons which I think is a good reward for someone who did a good job in class.

So if you're looking for a one stop site for your leisure time, head on to FreePrintables and avail of their printing materials absolutely for FREE!

Celebratin'

First off, I have a good news. I got my appointment paper yesterday! So that was the news I was holding for a couple of months now because nothing was final until yesterday. I finally got my Regular Permanent Status as a teacher which means that no one could kick me off the school where I'm teaching. Well not unless I do something horrible -not that I'm planning to do one anyway just so we're clear. Congratulations to me! lol.

Anyway, you may have noticed that I haven't been posting paid ads lately. Well that's because I was preoccupied with my scrapping activities that I don't have that much time to blog. Scrapping is fun though it takes much of my time downloading and uploading stuffs, not that I'm complaining anyway because I get 'em for free. Also, it's hard to maintain three blogs with different niche so I'm kind of slacking. I even brought everything to school today so that I could finish off my commitments for my teams while I'm away until the weekend. If I don't do that, I'll be kicked out of the teams I'm in. LOL.

Well, as I have said, I will be out for a couple of days because we're celebrating our Teachers Day out of town. I was supposed to bring my DD but I figured it would be too much of a hassle since we're there to enjoy ourselves. I think I'll just plan another trip with her in another time. A couple of good things happened lately but I want to emphasize the one from Facebook. Well you see I have a couple of friend requests from people who happens to have the same family name like ours and there's this one particular person who pesters me with family tree questions. Okay, so it's not really an annoying thing but I do not know my dad's lineage so well that I feel awful to not know the answers to the person's questions. However, I was prompted to ask my dad last night about his family tree and so we learned that the person who I was chatting with in Facebook could be a relative of ours. It was such a thrilling moment for me to know that I have other cousins out there somewhere. My supposed cousin and I have been chatting to get to know each other more, which is really exciting.

Another good thing is that I received a couple of chocolates from my good friends Pam and Mohd. They gave me those as a birthday present and I love it! My kids and mom loved the goodies too! What's even a better news is that I have connected anew to two friends I have lost touch for several months. Plus the fact that I'm going to have my first Team Jacob shirt soon! I so love Taylor Lautner and hate my scrappy friends for getting me hooked at Twilight saga. Haha. Love you girls! And sorry for being MIA with your conversations, told you all I'm a lurker. Forever. So that's all for now and I'm hoping for many good returns from this day forward. ;)

A Sad Birthday Month

I will be celebrating my birthday in 10 days. Normally, I'd get perky and bubbly but then there's something our family has to deal with now than celebrate. My aunt (my father's sister) died last night of a diabetes complication. But come to think of it, she's been on dialysis for more than three years and been battling to live. However, everything has an end and hers happened last night. It's saddens us but somehow relieved that she won't have to undergo much pain.
Kindly pray for Auntie Alice's soul, that she may find the light and pray for us as well.

Camping

I never experienced camping during my elementary days and I was never a member of the Girls Scouts so you can call me a loser in that aspect. It was one of my frustrations as a child for I really wanted to camp out and experience trekking and campfires. I wasn't able to do those when I was in elementary and high school but I did a lot of hiking and mountain climbing in college so I was able to satiate my hunger for those outdoor activities. However, I also wanted to experience Girls Scout.

Fortunately, I was chosen to be a troop leader for the Girls Scout in school this year aside from being assigned to handle the Twinklers as well. It's more of a dream come true for me rather than a duty or obligation. I wanted to know everything a Girls Scout does so I bombarded my co-teachers tons and tons of questions about it or whether I am making things right.

We had an district encampment held in school for three days but I was able to sleep in school during the kids' 2nd night wherein I brought my son along so that he too, could experience Boys Scout. He had so much fun especially with the campfire. he was ecstatic that he took 17 photos of the fire alone. Here are some photos to look at.

Here's Aloy with the girls. Look at his improvised belt, this one cracks me up upto now for he refused to remove it because his "powers" will be lost.

Here are my twinklers posing for the camera. I think my camera has a certain venom that turns naturally shy kids to be camwhores. I don't know. :p

My pupils presented a dance number. It was a contest but I didn't know that it was serious. We didn't practice at all. The dance that they presented during Fun Day was the same dance that they did in school last August. Fortunately they still memorize the steps so they made a great show. They won the contest, first prize! I'm so proud of them!

Helping Those in Need

This is just a glimpse of what Ondoy (Ketsana) did to many of my countrymen. A lot have lost their homes while more than 200 have lost their lives. I was looking at my friends' photos of the flood and I was greatly heartbroken. I called up a friend of mine to ask if they were affected by the flood and he said that they are soon going to lose everything. He tied his car to a tree so that the water won't take it away but he said he's grateful that they are all alive. However, my good friend Willa's family literally lost everything and it's breaking my heart when I read her blog post so I have decided to do my part as a friend and a Filipino and ask for your help as well. You can read Willa's plea here. I am knocking on your loving hearts to help Willa's family in this harrowing phase in their lives. If you could spare a penny for her family please do. And if you can's, at least repost this on your blog linking to her post. Thank you very much.

Weekend Bliss

It's a lazy Saturday for me today because of the weather. I love the rain but I do not love the flood. I have been trying to create a layout for my CT designers but I think I lost my mojos. Not to mention the fact that I somewhat feel stressed because of the upcoming examination of my pupils wherein I haven't started making the test items yet. Boo me! Maybe that's why I am not in the mood to scrap. I need to prioritize stuffs.

Anyway, I am thinking of buying an external drive for my photos and digiscrap kits because the Western Digital MyBook 1TB is on sale. I really need to organize the clutter in our pc's drive so I think I'll go get it. You think this is a good decision?
