The Most Wonderful Time!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year once again and there are a lot of things that I am thankful for. The month of December has been a month to reflect and hope. Things like, “what have I done wrong?” or “should I do this again next year?” usually comes up and no matter what we decide on, it is equally important for us to face it and stand by our decision.

This year has not been good to me financially even though I still get to travel abroad. However, I met my very good college friends, became a school coordinator for something that I have passion for, and I am now able to say “no” to people who are potential heartbreakers. That alone is an accomplishment.

I still have trouble organizing things in school but luckily, I now have a teacher aide who helps me. My laptop’s always a mess so I had to reformat it just so I can have it refreshed – that’s how much cluttered it was. But along with my laptop’s reformatting, I lost the applications that help me do my job easier. So now I have been thinking of getting the slidedeck jquery slider for my presentations in school especially now that graduation is near so I had to make a slideshow of the kids’ activities for the parents to watch. It also has a wordpress plugin for your blog’s slideshow needs, not to mention the ease of its use. There will be no broken script or code where you rat your brains out as to “where have I gone wrong?” as it integrates neatly to wordpress and is so easy to use.

That Damn Pacifier

I chanced upon this video and I was quite irritated with the parents of this child. Watch this video of a child named Ava saying goodbye to her pacifier, crying her heart out and totally heartbroken.

Come to think of it, none of my kids ever had pacifiers and they survived. I don't see the reason why pacifiers are made, seriously. And for the sake of discussion, if my kids have had pacifiers, I will not tell them stupid things like paci-heaven because there is no such thing as paci-heaven. If I want my child to give up the pacifier, I will tell him/her that he's/she's growing up so she doesn't need the pacifier anymore. Maybe I could tease her a little that he/she is a big boy/girl and he/she still uses the pacifier.

When my kids were almost 2 years old, I told them to stop drinking milk from the bottle and start to drink milk from the glass. I tried different approaches and when one worked with the other twin, I tried on another approach to the other. Letting go is never easy to adults, what more to the kids? When my child said that she's ready to give up her milk bottle, I told her to throw the bottle in the garbage can herself and when she did, she realized that there will be no turning back.

I am not an all-knowing type of parent and I try not to be, but I feel that the kids deserve more than this BS, they deserve to know the truth. And by knowing the truth, they will be more knowledgeable about reality and facts. Eventually, they will learn that the paci heaven story is all BS and the parents will save money from buying that balloon. And for what it's worth, labeling that video in the comedy section is stupid.

Or maybe it's just me, but that's  the way I see it.

Easy Scam

There have been numerous victims of internet related scams and if you don't know how to scrutinize each scam, you will be left dumbfounded and always at the losing end. Scams are everywhere so we just have to be wary and cautious when something or someone is making you an offer that sounds too good to be true.

I am a member of this site called EasyOutsource which caters to Filipinos who are seeking employers from the US and other parts of the world. Most of the work are home based like data entry, SEO marketing, virtual assistant, among others. Fortunately, there were people who are interested to get my services and I am happy to be working for them. After all, income is income.

However, there was a ludicrous offer from a man named Benson Edward who sent me this letter.

Dear Au pair/Teacher
I wish to Start this way, I am a American family currently transferred to
United Kingdom on a 2years contract as an Engineer working with
British Liquidified Natural Gas(BLNG).
However i have 3 kids with the age bracket of 7, 5, 1. I have two boys and a girl., I am looking for an aupair/Teacher or Nanny from Any Country that can speak English and is willingto stay with us for a minimum of 1year and maximum of 2years.
I am a Professional/Expatriate that is why i need a Au pair/Teacher for my
kid daughter, My kid is fairly easy going and relaxed, she would enjoy
someone with lots of energy and enthusiasm and most importantly God fearing aupair.
Having English as a first language is not all that required and in fact, we
would entertain you speaking to her in English.
I only seek an Au pair/Teacher or Nanny for basic child care and light
housework. If you accept to take a position with us, you would be paid
1200pounds monthly with a weekly 200pounds pocket money.
Hence we are doing anything that would motivate the intending Nanny to put
in his/her best in taking care of our child.
You shall have a private accommodation bedroom attach with a private
bathroom. A Fixed land phone and an Internet ready computer. Do well to send
me your references Picture or resume, and i would get in touch with you
after looking into it.
Should the outcome be positive, i would send you employment Letter. I shall
discuss travel arrangements in due course of which I would be of generous
assistance to you.
You can reach me on this email addresses: benson.edwardfamily@yahoo.comI sincerely look forward to hearing from you.
Best Wishes,

Had I been a nincompoop, I would have replied and sent my resume as fast as I could but since the offer sounded hideous, all I had to do was google and look what I have found out. So I felt safe in knowing that the person is a sham but I thought about the others who might be victimized so I sent a letter to the EasyOutsource administrator to report about the person. So far, I have not received a reply yet. I believe that  it is my obligation to report scams to the administrators so that the others who are honest and serious in finding a job would be warned. It is just a sad reality that there are heartless people who take advantage of the other people's weakness.

Nostalgic Sunday

I was browsing through my mails and discovered a 4 year old conversation with someone and reading through the convo, I can't help but feel sorry for the guy. I was filled with so much angst in the past and after reading the messages, I realized that God has indeed better plans for me that's why He had let those things happen.

Part of the conversation included me sharing this video to him.

Ironically, I had a dream last night that I am once again pregnant. I could not remember the guy in my dream but I remember myself telling him, "I knew this would happen, I dreamed about this." Funny thing is that the next scene in my dream was a wedding.

I have always been fond of dream interpretations so don't blame me if I always go to Dream Moods Dictionary for my daily fix. Okay, maybe not daily, but I go to the site when I am confused with a certain dream that I had. And according to Dream Moods Dictionary:

To dream that you are pregnant, symbolizes an aspect of yourself or some aspect of your personal life that is growing and developing. You may not be ready to talk about it or act on it. Being pregnant in your dream may also represent the birth of a new idea, direction, project or goal. Alternatively, if you are trying to get pregnant, then the dream may be a wish fulfillment. If you are not trying to get pregnant, but dream that you are, then it symbolizes fear of new responsibilities.

Call Me Miss Wise

I like it when I have nothing to do and it's August. The connection? I always buy a domain during the month of August and you guessed it right, I have a new domain name and the site's already working! Yay! But since I am relatively a new blogger, I have been thinking of doing some weekly hosting (or bi-monthly?) in order to gain new followers. Watchathink?

Setting Up a Site and Buying a Domain

I am getting a new domain once again for a new site. OMG. I wonder why I seem to always buy a domain name during the month of August and then I keep on stopping after a year or two? Hmmm.. I will be setting up a referral site for products that I use and believe in, I guess that will sustain me from blogging often. Goodluck to me! And I will keep you updated for sure.

When Online Shopping Confuses Me

I love shopping online because it saves me the hassle of going to malls wherein I have to dress up and queue in order for my purchases to get paid. Yeah you get the message, I am lazy. Online shopping is very convenient especially for moms like me who wants to have the weekend to myself (though sometimes I go to work for overtime) so I can lounge or read books that I like.

Another good thing about online shopping is that the clothes I buy for my kids are not common because most of what I prefer to buy are those with unique or funky designs that I think will make my kids stand out in a crowd. KSP much? Haha! Also, I get to have great deals in online shopping. Before I buy something at the mall, I check first online about the item and compare prices from other online shops for the best bargain that I can get. We all have to be wise you know.

I also prefer shops that accept Paypal as a mode of payment because it's convenient for me. I don't buy to shops the prefer bank deposits because my main purpose in shopping online is to elude myself from lining up to the cashier to pay. I prefer either Paypal or Globe Gcash, I think these two are the most convenient modes of paying for online purchases.

However, as I was doing my "rounds" today, a cutesy girl's dress caught my eye. Here are the photos.
I bought the Cranberry dress on the right a few months ago for my daughter and the Laura Ashley dress on the left made me confused. Even though there is a slight difference in the detail at the hem of the Laura Ashley dress, I am pretty sure that both came from the same seamstress. They both look great, I have to say, but can anyone tell me which is which? Did I pay for a re-tagged dress or is it the Laura Ashley which was re-tagged? I paid a much cheaper amount for the Cranberry dress so I have made a good deal.

Well, that's just my concern for now. Lemme raid the shops once again. :)
