ang giant kettle

Last Saturday, my friends and I attended the wedding of the most controversial person in our province. We only attended the wedding because his son happens to be my best friend. More about why the wedding was "controversial" on my next post.

It was the first traditional Muslim wedding that I attended and I think I was the only Christian at the reception. We had fun at the wedding. My friends and I ate a lot, and I mean A LOT. Food were overflowing, and we devoured the lechon baka like we haven't eaten for days. I don't really like lechon baka but what they served was mouth watering so kumain na lang ako. Anyhoo, I was fascinated with the giant kettle shown above. My friends and I were joking na baka may genie na lalabas. I don't see the reason kung bakit kailangan pang mag bring home ng food. After the wedding rites, wala nang emcee or anything, no prayers at all. Lamon na agad ang mga tao and after kumain, kanya-kanyang balot na ang mga bisita sabay uwi, without even congratulating the newly weds. Napanganga na lang ako, ganun talaga siguro. Same thing happened with the cake, after the cake cutting, kanya kanyang balot ang mga taga Comelec.

When most of the visitors went home, kami kami na lang with the first degree relatives of the newlyweds. Feeling family talaga kami. These boys who look like magsyota in the pic kept us laughing our ass off because of their election jokes. Mr. Bedol laughed with us and the boys even asked balato from him. The night was filled with laughter, we really had fun.
