Swimming

The kids enjoyed their swim yesterday. They swam for at least 5 hours non stop! They are all suffering from minor sunburns today but they're still asking us if we could go back to the resort again. Geez, when will they get tired? We had so much fun, needless to say.
The boys were the ones who cooked. They grilled pork belly which Caillou really loved and a big tuna that was so juicy and enticing. Caitlin raided the citrus fruits while I tried getting my forty winks when everyone's busy swimming. The resort was all jam packed so we opted to swim at the children's pool instead. *rofl* And so when we went home, the kids' eyes were all droopy and then I became The Flash for an hour and cleaned them up, fed them and put them all to sleep. After which I did the laundry and went to the midnight sale after we had our dinner. Blah. I was not even tired hah! After the midnight sale, I logged in to the digiland and chatted with BFF Pam to share some secrets. :p Tonight might be our last night here and I am treating the boys and their girlfriends out for dinner. I so love vacays!

I'm Back!

I have done nothing but slack these past weeks and I've been so unproductive blogging wise and scrapping wise. It's just that I don't know how to blog anymore -or where to start at least.

Anyway, the kids received a birthday party invitation yesterday to be held at a local food chain which most (if not all) Filipino kids love, Jollibee. Since I have three kids, my mom and dad had to accompany us to the party, one for each adult! The twins are so thrilled especially when the mascots came out. Caitlin couldn't help but be amazed and so she really touched the mascots' clothes, hands, hair, everything! And she always had her bright smile. Caillou, on the other hand, just couldn't stop looking at the mascots and occassionaly touches them as well. Aloy just participated with the parlor games and sat down when the mascots came out because he said that it's only for "little" kids. But he joined with the picture taking nonetheless. Here they are.

I am okay now I guess, I don't feel lazy anymore unlike the past days. I am now ready to kick ass! I have to say that the unplanned blog leave really did good on me.

The New Hair

The boys had their haircut today because obviously, their hair are already long. So for a change and a late summer look, we had them almost bald. Here they are.

Caillou from this....

So what do you think of their new 'do?

Marbel Vacation

Here's the latest picture of my twins during our holy week stay at Koronadal City. We noticed that they now rarely get into each others' nerves. Unlike before when they fight almost everyday, now they don't fight at all. This is good news!

Stitches

I was so busy and excited to share my Cebu trip that I forgot to tell you that upon my arrival at home, Caitlin surprised me with her stitches. Here's a picture.

Yep, she had an accident which required her to have two stitches and where was I when that happened? Cebu. Had I been a first time mom, I'd definitely scream and cry my heart out with what happened. But since I am not, I let things pass. My mom said that she was laughing the whole time when the blood was oozing out from her forehead and she only cried at the ER when the doctor was administering the stitches. Brave girl.

As I've said in my Multiply site, we're looking forward to the scars that made her childhood worthwhile.

Domesticated

It was the twins' 2nd birthday the day after Christmas and their caregivers left the day after that; which made me the primary and sole caregiver and homemaker as well. I know that I have no right to complain but I miss going online so much. I do love taking care of the kids though, especially in making sure that they get the right nutrition from the food that they eat. I love the moments that I had with the kids, it feels like we're all in a big playhouse and I'm the mother goose (well, I'm really the mother goose). I realized that I mised a lot of things about them. The other day, when Caitlin was crying, her twin brother Cailgave her a handkerchief to wipe off her tears. And when Caillou was sleeping, Caitlin kissed and hugged her brother.I saw and felt the love of my kids for each other and those scenes were such a big reward for me and my parenting abilities.Anyway, Belated Happy Birthday Caitlin Madison and Caillou Maurice. I want you both to know that you give me great joy and contentment in life. Thank you for keeping me sane especially when life's trying to test my motherhood skills.I love you both so much!

I am still domesticated even though we now have our new caregivers. I have an easier life at home now, unlike those past dayswhen I feel haggard at 5pm and still haven't taken a bath at that! But who says I'm complaining?! I'm a homebuddy and themost rewarding part of being a mother is when your kids say thank you after giving them a sumptuous meal. At least my effortsare not wasted eh? So there goes my vacation from work.

Have a happy New Year fellow bloggers and lurkers of my blog. As for my New Year's hopes and dreams, I will have to think about that pa. :D

Snatch the Government

I was able to snatch my mom's phone this morning and I uploaded the pictures right away. *teehee* Here's one of Caitlin's camwhore days, she'd always stick out her tongue when I tell her to pose for the cam. Unfortunately though, her twin isn't fond of posing and smiling for the camera because he wants to take the picture himself. So there's my photographer in the making.

I am not busy this week in terms of school activities because we have our annual teacher's olympics which started today and will last until tomorrow. After that, we will be celebrating our teachers' day so no class for the whole week. Initially, we planned to celebrate our teachers day in Davao City but everything was cancelled this morning because the big boss from the division office won't sign our permit to go out of town for security reasons. Oh I don't know anymore, I'm so tired trying to understand DepEd. See, we've been working for at least 6 months now and they still haven't given us our salaries although I am thankful for my boss in school because he gives me allowances and other extras every month. Last September though, we were told that the budget for the salaries of preschool teachers have already been approved and given to the regional offices so our spirits were up. Last month, when me and my colleagues followed up about the salary, they keep on telling us to go back the next day, and then the next day, and the next day again, and so on. We haven't gotten our salaries for 5 freaking months and then they told us that we can get only 3months worth of payment. We were okay with that since the office said that that's the only budget given to them. However, 2 days after that, they told us again that we will only get 2 months worth of money, and then after that day, they told us that we will only receive a month's worth of salary. Who the hell are they kidding? So okay, we did get our salary for the month of June last Novemeber and after that we asked ourselves, when will we get the salary for the month of July? Next year?! How about the months of August-present? I am losing faith in the government and if any of you know how to contact the Secretary of Education please leave a message.
I was thinking that I am lucky to have a compassionate boss who knows that though my career is indeed a vocation, I also have to feed my kids (err, actually treat them out from time to time) so I need money. And the government prohibits us to collect money from the pupils! Where will I get my fare to go to school if the parents won't pay for my fare and the government's salary is like 5 months late? LOL. I'm still fortunate that my pupils' parents understand my sentiments so they pay a very minimal amount monthly for my fare and other extras like Jollibee or Chowking. LOL. However, I have colleagues who teach in very depressed areas so they're not expecting any contribution from the parents and that they really spend their own money for everything - even test papers or class cards. Such a pity for the government and such a commendable professionalism to my colleagues who teach without reservations. I don't think I can do that.

Sleepless in my Room

Caillou's fever went up to 41 degrees Celsius last night and even though he wasn't cranky, I had to wake up from time to time to check up on him - which explains why I was late for school this morning. The twins' yaya woke me up at 7am so I rushed with my morning rituals just to be in school as early as I can (even though I'm already late), good thing I had brought the papers my boss asked me to print. I feel a bit under the weather today because I didn't get enough sleep so when I went home from class this morning, I catched up some zzzzzzs and was late AGAIN for my afternoon class. LOL. I still feel sleepy and downhearted.

Anyhoo, my co-teachers was in the office when I gave the papers my boss asked me to encode and print. When I was about to leave the room my co-teachers came up to me one by one and asked me if I could do the same for them. How can I say no? I just couldn't. They asked me how much I charge for a single page and I can't give them a price. I just said that I don't charge for that -much to their joy (and my disgust? LOL). So okay, I am normally "business minded" but I don't know what I ate this morning that made me charitable. Haha! Probably because of my lack of sleep? That's a possibility.

So now I am stuck making the reports of my co-teachers, free of charge. Well, that's all I can do to refrain them from talking behind my back. Uh-oh.

Have a happy mid-week everyone, and a happy sleep tonight as well.

Should I or Should I Not?

I made this layout two weeks ago and was hesitating to showcase this because I wasn't confident enough with the turnout. I'm posting it anyway. So whaddya think?

The twins are sick for two days now, both have cough and fever. Caitlin's recuperating but Caillou's condition is getting worse, I think he already needs to take antibiotics. Yesterday I checked their teeth and found out both of their molars are coming out so that explains their illness. They're not cranky, thank goodness, and I don't have a hard time making them take their medication. At 3am this morning, Caillou woke me up, held my hand onto his neck to tell me that he has fever again so I had to get his medicine for him. Hehe.

Im Thankful for...

Howdy!  Caitlin's medication for Primary Complex will end next month and I feel happy that we haven't spent a single penny for her medications for the last 4 months because my childhood friend, Jomar, is supplying us the Isoniazid and Rifampin. So I'm posting this to say THANK YOU JOMAR for the free meds!

....

And then this afternoon, my boss talked to me and said that they're planning to permanently absorb me next year - if I pass the board exam.  But, if I don't pass the board, they will still let me sign a new contract with them. So I'm thankful for the trust that my supervisors are giving me.  My boss also told me to list down whatever I need for my classroom decoration so that he could give me the budget for my needs.  Yey!

....

And then since it's Nutrition Month here in the Philippines, I'm going to teach my pupils a dance number for their presentation on the 31st. And guess what we'll be dancing? Of course, the perennial Makulay ang Buhay Sa Sinabawang Gulay song. Hahaha!  And since I'm the one who'll be teaching their dance number, there'll be a lot of hip movements. LOL.

....

I'm supposed to scrap today but a lot of pests (a.k.a. cousins) are asking me to download stuffs for them so I'm stuck searching for their PSP downloads the whole day!

the nurse incident

Caitlin was finally discharged last Friday, thank God. But two days before we left the hospital, an incident happened between a nurse and Caitlin. As I've said, my daughter is maldita. She doesn't take her meds and she goes hysterical whenever she's forced to take her medications. Last Wednesday, I decided to be present in school because I have to attend my commitment to my supervisors. When I got home, Rica, Cait's nanny, told me that a nurse got mad at Caitlin.

Rica (R): Te, nagalit yung lalaking nurse kay Cait kanina.
Me: Bakit?
R: Kasi ayaw ni Cait inumin yung gamot nya tapos nagalit sya.
Me: Anong sabi?
R: Sabi nya, "ano ba tong bata na to kahirap hirap painumin ng gamot ang arte arte."
Me: Anong sabi mo?
R: Wala. Tapos tinanong niya kung nasaan ang nanay ni Cait, sabi ko wala kasi nasa school ka kasi may mga pupils ka doon.
Me: Anong sabi nya?
R: Sabi nya bakit daw pinababayaan mo ang anak mo.
Me: @*^&%$! Tapos anong ginawa mo?
Me: *&^%$@%!!! Anong pangalan nya kay sampalin ko sya pagpunta ko dun mamaya.
R: Tinanggal man nya ang ID nya te.

So when I went to the hospital, I looked for that nurse. Unfortunately, his shift ended. Lucky him! So I asked my mom if she knows what happened and told me exactly the same story Rica had said. She said that she already went to the nurse's station and to Cait's pedia to complain about the behavior of that nurse. The nurse was scolded and apologized to my mom.

Hahaha.

Primary Complex

Caitlin was diagnosed to have primary complex. Ugh. Her doctor's not that sure yet but I'm anticipating the worst diagnosis. She's still under some tests to find out if PC is positive in her.

I got back to school today and I am touched when my teachers and pupils asked how my daughter is doing. Caitlin is being maldita everyday. She likes to run around the hospital, with her yaya following her because she still has her IV. Ang kulit kulit. People call her maldita and she's getting notorious na. Great. Just great. But at least she doesn't pester everybody at night because she sleeps like a log.

I hope we get discharged soon or else we cannot pay the hospital bills.

Kambal Trouble

Caitlin was admitted at the hospital yesterday because of a high fever and cough which led to some seizures. I was in school yesterday when my mom called me to say that she's rushing Cait to the hospital and right then and there, I fled... Only to see Caitlin shouting at the nurses who had put the IV on her! Maldita talaga ang anak ko. LOL.

She's okay now, but still confined. Gusto atang yumaman ni Doc. Haha.

Please pray for her continuous recovery.

the very late bday pictures

So here’s the very late story of the twins’ 1st birthday. Ate Sweet, I know that you’re looking forward to see the pictures, haha. First off, the reason why I am only able to post the pictures now because they were saved in my friend’s laptop and I haven’t seen her for weeks --until this morning.

We had set up the party in our small garden; we put up a tent, tables and I tasked my friend to take care of the decorations. Their balloons were sponsored by Roces, the pabitin was by Iman, the decorations by Yami and the cake, oh the quite controversial cake, was sponsored by my cousin Kuya Bobby who, unfortunately, was not able to attend the celebration. My aunt, Mommy Dory gave away cute headbands to all the girls present, both young and old.

The twins didn’t cooperate during the singing of the birthday song, especially during the blowing of the candle and picture taking. Caitlin put off the flame on their candle with her bare hands which made everyone laugh. Caillou, on the other hand, wouldn’t look at the camera and smothered his hands on the icing and gave his twin some to lick on. It was a real riot. I was not able to conduct games because I had little time for the preparation. When the party was over, my friends and I had a little celebration of our own. We sang all throughout the night.

Here are some snapshots..

But of course, I blew the cake.

Busy Christmas!

Advance Merry Christmas to all!

Well, the twins will be having their first birthday on the 26th but we will be celbrating on the 25th because I have to leave for Davao City on the day of their birthday to attend a very important seminar. I am saddened that I can't be with them on their birthday. Tsk tsk.

Anyway, I am the acting Santa for Aloy tonight. Nope, I won't dress up like Santa but I tasked myself to make him believe that Santa's real. I have very fond memories of Santa Clause and I want my children to experience the same way as I did. And I won't deny that I believed in Santa til I was 11. Hahaha!

Have a peaceful and hassle free Christmas dear friends! Mwah!

i know ive been tagged but..

I'm quite busy because I was tasked to facilitate for tomorrow's reach-out-slash-christmas-party-for-streetchildren as a yearly tradition in our school. I think I will also conduct a lecture tomorrow. Ugh.

Anyhoo, I want to ask for suggestions for Caitlin and Caillou's clothes for their first birthday party. Can anyone send me pictures of dresses/suits that will suit them? Please please, I'm really busy these days.

Send the pics at cmars2@gmail.com. Your replies will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Xmas Wishlist

As usual, I don't want anything for Christmas (well, except a new digital camera which I really wish for ever since) so I can't make my Christmas wishlist. I'll make my wishlist for my kids instead so buckle up and take your pick. LOL.

For Caitlin and Caillou:

  1. I want them to have this shirt. I think it's cool. And it's true naman that their momma's hot. LOL.

  2. I want them to have matching shirts. Yung tipong bf/gf look since they're fraternal twins, di talaga malalaman na twins sila and I like the idea of seeing them together wearing same outfits.

  3. For Caitlin, more dresses with matching panties. Ang hirap bumili ng dress dito sa amin, sobra! If ever bibili naman kami, siguradong andami nyang kapareho. Uniform? Haha. Hand me downs will do, really.

  4. For them both, toys. Any toy will do as long as hindi guns, etc.

For Aloy:

  1. Any type of clothes, sandos, pants, toys, books. Wala syang pinapatawad basta gift. LOL.

I also like the four of us to be wearing something like this:

Although mas type ko kung camouflage kaming lahat. Hehe.

sweetness!
